How to Draw Ariel and Eric from The Little Mermaid in Easy Steps Tutorial

Step 1

– Lightly draw an oval and a square to make up the basic shape of Ariel’s face.

Step 2

Ariel : Now draw a letter ‘S’ or ?-like shape on the left side of her face. This will help you space out where to place Eric’s face.

Eric : Draw a circle and a square for his face as well.

Step 3

– Draw guidelines within both faces. These will help you place the facial features.

Eric : Draw a sideways letter ‘s’-shaped curve.

Ariel : Draw two letter ‘s’-shaped curves.

Step 4

Eric :

– Draw a sideways #3-like shape on top of his head.

– Draw a letter ‘C’ shaped ear.

– Draw a #5-shaped nose.

Ariel :

– Draw a sideways #3-like shape on top of her head.

– Draw a capital letter ‘J’ shape for the nose.

– Draw a letter ‘C’ shaped ear.

Step 5

Eric :

– Draw a sideways #7-shape at top of the head.

– Draw a ?-like shape inside his ear.

– Draw a sideways capital letter ‘A’ shape for the eye.

– Draw a letter ‘s’ shape under the nose.

Ariel :

– Draw a sideways #3-like shape on top of her head.

– Draw a letter ‘s’ shape for the nose.

– Draw a letter ‘s’ shape inside the ear.

– Draw a letter ‘D’-shaped eye.

– Draw curved lines inside the hair.

Step 6

Eric :

– Draw a curved line at the back of his hair.

– Draw curved lines inside his ear and for his jaw-line.

– Draw a letter ‘v’ shape sideburn.

– Draw a ?-like shape for his mouth and chin.

– Draw the inside of the nose.

– Draw the inside of the eye.

Ariel :

– Draw a backwards letter ‘J’ shape for the mouth.

– Draw her nostril.

– Draw the inside of the eye. Draw the eye lashes.

– Draw letter ‘s’ shapes inside the face.

Step 7

Eric :

– Draw the back of his neck.

– Draw a #2-like shape for the chin.

– Draw a triangle eye brow.

– Draw his eye lids and a circle highlight in his eye.

– Draw a line for teeth.

Ariel :

– Draw her eye lids and a circle highlight in his eye. The bottom eye lid is a letter ‘z’ shape.

– Draw the top and bottom of her lips.

– Draw a letter ‘s’ chin and shoulder.

– Draw the back of her hair.

Step 8

Eric :

– Draw letter ‘D’ shaped fingers with curved lines coming down from them.

– Draw a capital letter ‘A’ shape under his chin.

Ariel :

– Draw a bubble-letter ‘L’- shape and an oval for the guidelines that make up her arm.

– Draw more of her hair.

Step 9

Eric :

– Draw is fingernails.

– Draw a few more curved lines for details.

Ariel :

– Draw a letter ‘S’ shape in front of her and in her hair and above her shoulder.

– Draw a letter ‘S’ shape for the guideline of her hand.

Step 10

Eric :

– Draw a #7 shape to the left of Ariel’s hand.

– Draw a capital letter ‘A’ shape above her hand. Draw a curved #7-shape to the right of this.

Ariel :

– Draw a capital letter ‘P’ shape for her left-most finger.

– Outline the arm guidelines.

– Draw a bubble letter ‘C’ shape for the guidelines of the top of her dress.

– Draw a few more letter ‘s’-shaped curves.

Step 11

Eric :

– Draw a sideways #2-shape for the arm of his shirt and for the shape inside his chest area.

– Draw a capital letter ‘L’ shape in his shirt.

Ariel :

– Draw her fingers as letter ‘L’ shapes hooked to ?-shapes for knuckles.

– Draw curved lines on his shirt coming from her fingers holding on to his shirt.

– Draw sideways letter ‘U’ shapes inside the letter ‘C’ guidelines.

– Draw curved lines in her hair.
