Today I will show you how to draw a cartoonish chibi version of Link from the Legend of Zelda. Link is the main character in the Legend of Zelda video games that have been popular for decades. We will guide you to drawing toon Link with this easy to follow step by step drawing tutorial.
Cartoon link has an oval for a head. Draw guidelines thru the head to help place facial features.
Add a rectangle for his body. It is a bit curved.
Draw long arms on either side. Draw the basic shapes of each arm by drawing ovals. We’ll add his Master Sword and shield later.
Draw his legs next. Cartoon Link’s legs are actually shorter than his whole body. Draw a trapezoid-ish shape under his body (sort of like a triangle without a point). Then draw ovals to form the basic shapes of his legs.
– Now lets start drawing the features of the face. Use the guidelines to help you place the facial features.
– Draw a curved line for the mouth and a circle for the nose.
– Draw triangle-ish shapes for brows and the upper eye.
– Draw a letter ‘U’ shape for each eye. Draw a curved line under the eye.
– Now start drawing Link’s hair.
– The hair is made up of basic shapes…I broke the hair down into simpler parts by highlighting them in different colors.
– Draw the ear….a sideways letter ‘V’-like shape with a capital letter ‘J’ shape inside of it.
– Lets start drawing the shirt area of Link.
– Draw a belt with a spiral shape inside of it.
– For the collar, draw an upside down capital letter ‘A’ shape.
– For the right sleeve, draw a letter ‘z’-like shape.
– Draw a capital letter ‘L’ shape on the upper left side of the shirt.
– Draw Link’s shield. It is 2 letter ‘V’-like shapes with curved lines on top of it. Draw some lines within it.
– For the left hand, draw a letter ‘s’ shape within it.
– For the right hand draw a #3-like shape on the left side of it and a letter ‘L’ shape on the right side of it.
– Lets draw the sword. I highlighted the simple shapes within the sword to help you draw it.
– Draw a curved line at thigh level.
– Draw a capital letter ‘E’ on the left foot…and an upside down letter ‘F’ shape on the right foot.
Erase the guidelines from within Link. Daren or Blacken the lines that need some help. You now have a great picture of Link from the Legend of Zelda. I hope that you had fun! Come back for more tutorials soon!
